Brooklyn’s brush with Mr Beckham

EMERGING Aussie DJ, Brooklyn, squealed with excitement and shock when she found out she would be preforming for world-class megastar David Beckham.

The Biloela born-and-bred girl, Brooke Elliott, was told by her manager, Joey Lamattina, to pack her bags and board a plane to Vietnam in preparation for one of the biggest gigs of her career so far.

"I only got the phone call from Joey a week before I was due to fly out and he told me pack my bags and my beats, because I was off to Vietnam for an extremely high-profile performance," Brooklyn said.

"I knew my first stop was in Hanoi, but I had no idea which venue or who it was for; I was nervous and so excited at the same time.

"When I arrived at Level10 nightclub in Hanoi, it was finally revealed to me who I was playing for and I think I almost died as my heart exploded with absolute exhilaration."

Brooklyn toured to the north and south of Vietnam from November 9 to 12 with Beckham, who was there on a business trip to promote his new whiskey - Haig Club.

Clad in a stunning blue dress to complement Haig Club's signature branding, the blonde bombshell kicked off her first two-hour set of the tour with a remix of Avicii's Addicted to You, and her nerves disappeared into the energy of the crowd.

"His VIP section was only about three metres away from the DJ booth, so I had full view of him and his entourage, which I'll admit made me a little nervous, but once I put my first track on I was completely in the zone."

Beckham was only expected to hang around the nightclub for about an hour or so, but the global sporting sensation stayed for Brooklyn's entire performance.

"I was invited into his VIP booth after my performance and I got to have a little chat to him; he told me in his adorable English accent, 'You were amazing by the way'. I don't think I've ever blushed so much in my life," she said.

"He is the most gorgeous man I have ever seen and such a nice, down-to-earth guy."

But the party did not stop there. Brooklyn was invited to an exclusive after party with Becks and his entourage at a bar adjoining to his hotel to continue the celebrations.

"It was nice to have a little chat with him without thousands of people trying to get to him; we spoke about his eldest son, Brooklyn."

Beckham's entourage included his hairdresser, best mate Dave Gardner who is rumoured to be expecting a child with actress Liv Tyler, his personal assistant, and his manager Simon Fuller, who also managed the Spice Girls.

"Everyone he was with was super nice and told me that they really enjoyed my set," she said.

The second night of the tour was in Ho Chi Minh City at Chill - Sky Bar with thousands of party goers lining up to get a glimpse of the world's most famous soccer player.
