NRL: The Broncos' five-eighth plans for this season have been severely disrupted with Jordan Kahu suffering a possible ACL injury against the Cowboys during the 32-8 trial loss in Redcliffe on Saturday night.
It appears the talented 23-year-old has suffered his third long-term knee injury in four years.
Kahu (pictured) crashed to the ground clutching his knee in the dying minutes of the game.
Broncos coach Anthony Griffin was stunned by the injury having hinted Kahu would be his pivot this year.
"The first diagnosis wasn't really good but since it cooled down in the shed he has got strength back in his knees and there is some optimism," Griffin said.
"I couldn't believe it when he went down."
Kahu showed brilliant skills in attack and defence before his injury.
The Broncos' five-eighth jersey is now likely to go to Zach Strasser.
