WATCH: Gladstone film to premiere this weekend

IT's almost time to see Gladstone on the big screen.

The first feature film shot in Gladstone, Broke, will be premiered in Australia this week.

The huge unveiling of Gladstone producer Luke Graham's project will be held at the Gladstone Cinemas on April 3.

The film will screen at the cinemas from April 7 for about three weeks.

Broke follows the story of Ben (Steve Le Marquard), a fallen football star struggling with a gambling addiction.

It also stars Claire Van Der Boom and Max Cullen, but Mr Graham said there were many Gladstone people used in the cast and crew.

"We had Gladstone people as extras in the cast and behind the scenes as crew - we were using their houses, others were caterers. It's a real Gladstone film."

The premiere is a red-carpet event.

Some of the stars of the movie will return to Gladstone for the event.

Tickets are $55, which includes drinks and a selection of nibbles.

Residents will also have the chance to have a Q&A with the cast and crew.
