UPDATE: Mum gives birth inside Gladstone council toilets

UPDATE 3.05pm:

IN WHAT must be a very special occasion, two Gladstone paramedics helped a woman in her early 20s deliver a healthy baby girl in public toilets on Goondoon St today.

The paramedics were called to the toilets attached to the council building and facing NAB around 11.30am.

According to an Ambulance officer at Gladstone, the labour progressed quite quickly and the young mum needed help delivering the baby.

The mum and bub were taken to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition and by all reports the mum and baby girl are happy and healthy.

12.51pm: 

Gladstone paramedics are riding high after delivering a baby inside Gladstone Regional Council toilets.

The mum and new born are at Gladstone Hospital.

A hospital spokesperson said the mother and baby are safe and doing well.

EARLIER: 

PARAMEDICS have responded to a 000 call reporting that a woman is in labour outside a public toilet in Gladstone Central.

Two ambulance units were sent to the scene at around 11:30am.

We are still waiting on more details about the the woman.
