UPDATE: Man suffers critical injuries in quad bike incident
A MIDDLE aged man was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital on Saturday afternoon following a quadbike rollover at Callide near Biloela.
The patient was transported by Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service in a critical condition after suffering injuries to his head, abdominal and pelvic areas.
A Helicopter Rescue spokesperson said the man is believed to have been riding the quad bike to check on a dam at a property on Dudarkos Rd around 2.30pm.
It is believed the man dropped something from his pocket and lost control when he turned around to pick it up.
The man was initially assessed by the Queensland Ambulance Service before being treated by the on-board Doctor and Intensive Care Paramedic.
The rescue helicopter arrived on scene at approximately 3.55pm.
UPDATE 4:11PM: A MALE patient is being transported to hospital in a critical condition after a quad bike rolled at a property in Callide.
A rescue helicopter arrived on scene at approximately 3.55pm to transport the male after paramedics responded to a call at the Dudarkos Rd property at 2.35pm.
The male patient suffered injuries to the head, abdominal and pelvic areas.
The patient's age is unknown.
UPDATE 3:18PM: A RESCUE helicopter is en route to a property at Callide after a quad bike rollover this afternoon.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson has confirmed one patient has suffered critical injuries to the head, abdominal and pelvic areas.
Paramedics responded to the incident which happened on Dudarkos Rd, Callide around 2.35pm this afternoon.
2:45PM: PARAMEDICS are responding to reports of an incident involving a quadbike at Callide near Biloela.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed a quad bike has allegedly rolled on private property.
Paramedics have not yet arrived on scene.
