BREAKING: Police raid 10 homes, find ice, MDMA and marijuana

MACKAY police searched 10 homes in Mackay and Bakers Creek today and found marjuana, ice, MDMA and cash.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Tucker from the Mackay CIB said 11 people were arrested and 33 charges had been laid, mostly relating to the possession and supply of dangerous drugs.

Three will remain in custody overnight and appear in Mackay Magistrates Court in the morning.

Det Snr Sgt Dave Tucker said the quantities of drugs were yet to be established.

"During the execution of the warrants we located a substantial number of cannabis plants, quantities of dry cannabis and quantities of ice," he said.

"Our seizures today will certainly have a short term impact on the Mackay community insofar as these drugs have been taken out of circulation.

"We certainly hope that the suppliers of these drugs, that their business has been interrupted today."

About $600 in cash was seized during the search warrants.

Det Snr Sgt said no one had been charged with trafficking, but police were continuing to investigate.

"That requires further investigation but certainly (trafficking) is our focus," he said.

"Anyone who is trafficking drugs, they're the people that we want to see first."
