Brady's Bounce/Coops Court: Power keen for solid home show

Gladstone Port City Power Capricorn Surge coach Brady Walmsley shares his thoughts ahead of Sunday's crucial QBL game against Cairns.

The Power have surged to a fourth-straight win following an unblemished away trip on the Gold Coast.

Certainly things seemed to have clicked and we've been confident in our vision and our ability to execute that vision the whole time.

Certainly winning is the confirmation of that and I am pleased to have got on to a roll and a four-game winning streak.

I understand we have a tough opponent in Cairns tomorrow and are very well coached by Jamie O'Loughlin and am looking forward to that encounter at home.

I don't think we're quite the team at home we wanted to be this year, so we are excited to be playing at home in front of our sponsors and fans in the form that we're in.

Taylor Young was exemplary last weekend, played really well, was very dynamic for us and the driver of our team.

But we had contributions across the board and as I have said many times, we deliberately recruited to not try to elevate one star above the other.

We're starting to get that evenness and that's what it'll take to get the win.

WHEN: Tomorrow

TIME: 2pm

WHERE: Kev Broome Stadium

POSITIONS: Power 4 wins 5 losses; 10th on ladder. Cairns 5 wins 3 losses; 4th on ladder

Not the best of weekends 0-3 but what positives can you and the girls draw from each of the games?

We had a really good hit out vs South West Pirates that are definitely a top 3 team. We were down by 10 at half time and gave them some trouble with our defence. We played our tempo that game and it really stood out.

Other than Amanda, who else stood up for you across the three games?

Caralie Wilson controlled the tempo for us a fair bit in the games, but no just with her offence but also her defence.

What areas of the game will be the main focus ahead of this week's game against Cairns?

It will just be how we approach the game and instead of waiting for the game coming to us and waiting to see what Cairns do we are going to dictate it on our terms and what we want to do.

Finally, what is the mood like within the team?

The girls are very positive and have a great team moral off the court.

WHEN: Tomorrow, noon

WHERE: Kev Broome Stadium

POSITIONS: Power 1 win, 8 losses; 14th on ladder. Cairns 2 wins, 6 losses; 11th on ladder.
