Brad and Dale's bathtub surprise sinks Steve and Chantelle

IT SEEMS a bathtub in a bedroom can be a winner on The Block.

Renovation newbies Steve and Chantelle might have made judge Shaynna Blaze cry last night with their improved style but it was experienced favourites Brad and Dale who won the master bedroom and ensuite week thanks to their left-of-centre design.

The two teams were tied going into tonight's final score reveal, with the favourites winning by just half a point.

Judge Neale Whitaker's scores left the usually super Kyal and Kara at the bottom of the leaderboard on 22, followed by the twins on 25 points.

"It feels good to get another win up. It's been a long time coming," Brad said.

Steve and Chantelle were clearly gutted by their second-place finish.

"I'm super pissed off about tonight. I'm not going to lie about it," Steve said.

"It's seven days of work to lose by half a point, you know, that is shattering. I worked my guts out on this one."

The decision didn't sit any better when they were able to walk through Brad and Dale's master bedroom.

"I'm having issues with this," Steve said.

"I can't imagine this (bathtub) being a good feature.

"I'm not sure how to take this."

The teams will spend this week finishing their rooftop and first level terraces.

The judges gave all of the teams $5000 to help them fix up anything they're not happy with ahead of the auctions. It's the equivalent of the "redo rooms" week from last year's Sky High season.

Host Scott Cam also revealed whichever team wins the exteriors week will get to pocket the $10,000 prize and also win a yet-to-be-revealed strategic decision.
