Club celebrates Mudcrab Carnival

THE Boyne/Tannum Ladies Bowls Club celebrated the 20th anniversary of the annual Mudcrab Carnival on Friday.

Fourteen teams travelled from Biloela, Mt Larcom, Calliope, Gladstone and Alumina to compete against the home club.

Boyne/Tannum spokesperson Dianne Schelbach said it was beautiful sunny day and even though it was a serious match there was lots of laughter.

First place went to the team of K Hunt, J Crosisca, I Baxter and S Barlow, of Alumina, and won $200 for their efforts, while second was awarded to E Kingston, K Locke, D Atfield and C Daly, of Biloela, with a $100 prize.

Third was the combination of M Smith, K Thomas, K Kite and B Blackford, of Boyne/Tannum, scoring $80 for their team, while fourth was taken out by F Parker, E Laffin, J Hunt and L Kuipers, also of Boyne/Tannum, winning $40.

The carnival comprised of three rounds of 16 ends, taking one and three quarter hours each round. It was specifically designed to give all level of bowlers a chance to compete. Usually only masters can compete.

Afternoon and morning teas were enjoyed by all.
