Boyne Island AFL fields almost lit up after two years
The new light towers are up at BITS football ground. In two weeks the elevated work platform will be here to put the lights up.
The concrete foundation goes 5.5m deep, and 18cm of concrete was used.
Adam Tregea and Jay Hillier from BRL Electrical will be at the ground until the end of the week getting all of the electrical cables ready for the lights.
They'll be back in two weeks to install them.
The club secured funding for lights late last year.
"It's a really good opportunity to allow kids to play under lights on Friday night for footy and cricket," BITS Saints president Andrew McMahon told The Observer at the time.
"Other teams will use it if they want to. It's not just for us it is for the whole region."
He said it was a big relief after working on the plan for two years.
"This is one of the best days I have had at the footy club," he said.
