Boy as young as 12 sought over five indecent assaults

A BOY aged just 12 to 16 is being sought over indecent assaults on five women in the Papakura area of Auckland since December.

Detectives are hunting for the teen over the assaults, all of which occurred on a Sunday or Monday.

The boy was described as Maori or a Pacific Islander, aged between 12 to 16 and of thin build. During three of the attacks he was on a bicycle.

"These brazen assaults are very distressing and frightening for the victims," Detective Colin Welsh said.

"We need to apprehend this offender as soon as possible to ensure he does not have the opportunity to do this to anyone else"

Similar incidents were reported in Pukekohe and Papakura between December 2012 and March 2013 but stopped until recently.

Police fear there may be more victims and encourage anyone who has had a similar experience in either of these areas to contact them immediately.
