Lessons the inspiration for book

FEI Matheson has been teaching people of all ages how to speak Chinese for more than seven years.

It was her experience during these lessons, both at Net Learning Queensland and private classes in Gladstone, that led her to spend three years writing a book called The English Way of Learning Chinese.

Ms Matheson said it was published in the USA last year .

"Now they are in five countries big bookstall's ie USA, UK, New Zealand, Canada and Australia, and is also selling on the internet," Ms Matheson said.

She said the book was a bilingual book for English people learning Chinese and for Chinese people learning English.

"It's suitable for people of any age for independent study or as a classroom aid .... (and) for beginner or intermediate level people.

"I am going to have my first book signing on Sunday at the Multicultural Festival at the Marina.
