Bomb threat at Kin Kora State School

STUDENTS at Kin Kora State School had a late start on Monday after the school received notification that a bomb had been placed at the school.

The school implemented its evacuation procedures and police officers from Gladstone station attended the incident.

A thorough and immediate search of the school grounds was undertaken, revealing no suspicious items.

Gladstone Police Inspector Les Bullus said two police crews attended the incident.

"Police are currently investigating a graffiti offence," Inspector Bullus said.

"The school chose to take action this morning based on the nature of the writing, not on police orders."

Upon the completion of the search, students were able to go back into the school and commence normal classes.

Police are continuing investigations into the graffiti offence.
