Boats investigate flooded Boyne valley
Two SES boats were sent into the Boyne Valley today to investigate the area.
Gladstone Regional Mayor Gail Sellers said the boats were carrying medical supplies and other supplies.
Cr Sellers said most of the Boyne Valley was still cut off today by floods.
Authorities say when the level of Lake Awoonga drops to 41.5 metres, roads into the Boyne Valley will become accessible.
The back of the lake meets the main road into the valley, rises over the road during flooding.
The lake is spilling over Awoonga Dam and has now fallen to 43.5 metres (3.5 metres above the spillway.)
The water level is dropping by about 10cm per hour.
