A MAN involved in a boating accident off Fraser Island was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital after his leg came into contact with a boat propeller.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a 31-year-old with a severe leg laceration.

The man was fishing with a group when the boat became lodged in a sandbar.
