THE FIRST of the yachts from the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht race 2016 has crossed the finish line.
Black Jack's skipper Mark Bradford took out first place at 4.20 pm this afternoon, with the closest competition still 105 NM behind.
The yacht left Brisbane March 25 11.20 am and arrived in Gladstone one day and 5 hours later.

The multihull competition is getting close with yacht Morticia still in the lead travelling at 7.5 knots just 46 NM from the finish line.
UPDATE AS AT 2.37 PM
Multihulls: Top Gun has begun to close the gap with a solid pace in second behind Morticia, travelling at 10.4 knots with just 86 nm to the finish. Morticia remains in the lead at 7.7 knots and 56 nm to go. Boss Racing is catching travelling at 11 knots with just 95.8 nm to the finish line.
Monohulls: It looks like some of the yachts are on their final leg with frontline Black Jack just 19.8 nm from the finish line, Kerumba maintaining second place on 8.1 knots just 116 nm from home with yacht Mr Kite on its heels travelling at 7 knots with 120 nm to go.

Multihulls: Morticia maintains her lead at 10.6 knots and 69.6nm from the end, 2nd is still Top Gun at 8.1knots some 97.8nm from the finish, 3rd is Boss Racing travelling at 9.1knots and 107.4nm away from the finish.
Monohulls: It's all Blackjack and celebrations not too far away. BJ is doing 7.9knots and just 30.9nm from outright line honours, a distant 2nd is Kerumba sailing at 7.8knots and 123.6nm away while 3rd is a change of positions with Mr Kite overlapping South Passage. Mr Kite is doing 8.3knots and 128.3 nm out. South Passage is slowing at 6.2knots and 129.7nm out.

Multihulls: Morticia leading at 11.4knots and 81.3nm from finish line, 2nd is Top Gun at 9knots 108.5 from finish line and 3rd is Boss Racing at 9.9kn 121.1nm from the finish.
Monohulls: Black Jack 11.4knots and just 40.7nm away from the finish, 2nd is Kerumba travelling at 8.3kn and 131.9nm left from finish, 3rd is South Passage at 6.1knots and 136.7nm from the finish.
BLACK JACK is currently coming first in Line Honours in the Brisbane to Gladstone 2016 Yacht race.
Travelling at speed of 11.9 knots at 262.92°, skipper aboard Mark Bradford is just 62 nautical miles from the finish line.
Volunteer Marine Rescue are expecting Black Jack to cross the finish line after 3 pm today.
Coming second in Line Honours is Tim Faragher aboard Kerumba. Travelling at 7.3 knots at 355.65°, yacht Kerumba is 146.6 nautical miles from finish line.
Andrew Northcott aboard yacht Mr Kite is coming third in Line Honours with 158 nautical miles until the finish line travelling at 7.7 knots at 5.12°.
The Multihull Yacht Club Queensland Brisbane to Gladstone yacht race is tagging shortly behind, with yacht Morticia coming first in Line Honours and just 99.3 nautical miles from the finish line.
Aboard Morticia skipper Shaun Caroll is carrying a speed of 11.9 knots at 262.22°. Coming in second in Line Honours is yacht Top Gun, skipper Darren Drew aboard.
Top Gun is travelling at a speed of 12.3 knots at 351.70° and 123.7 nautical miles from the finish line.
It's a tight competition for third in Line Honours between yacht Boss Racing and Fantasia, skipper aboard Boss Racing, Gary Saxby will need to work hard to keep the less than one nautical mile lead he has over Fantasia.
