Black Caps want Bond

FORMER New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond is being targeted as a possible replacement for Damien Wright as New Zealand bowling coach.

Wright announced yesterday he was stepping down from the position to be closer to his sick mother and young family, and New Zealand Cricket director of cricket John Buchanan said they will approach Bond, Newstalk ZB reported.

"We'll go through the advertising process," Buchanan said. "... but obviously someone like Shane Bond presents as one of the candidates that we're very interested in talking with." - APNZ
