BITS just one win short of A-Grade Twenty20 final berth

BITS may have scored the most runs all-up in last weekend's A-grade Twenty20 matches, eclipsing Brothers' 89 in 13.2 overs and then notching 137 in their defeat by The Glen.

But it wasn't enough to earn another shot at The Glen in the final, so they'll need to finish the job against Yaralla this morning.

Beaten by a brilliant 91 not out from The Glen's Dave Heymer, BITS sit even with Yaralla at a win and a loss, with the winner of today's 10am clash to face The Glen (two wins, no losses) at 2pm.

Captain of the BITS side Dave Webber was confident his team had what it takes to win their way into a rematch of 2013's T20 final, especially on the batting front, having scored 231 in the two matches from last week.

"Our side doesn't go too bad, we have a good range of bowlers and batters," he said.

The competition, which takes up two weekends before regular matches re-commence, offers BITS not just the opportunity of a much-needed victory over their rivals, but a chance to claim some confidence for the back half of the summer.

"We always have a good rivalry with Yaralla, that is who is fighting it out in the final with us," Webber said of the regular competition.

Looking at this week and the match this morning against Yaralla, Webber thought it was a good chance to show the intent of his side for the season ahead.

"We have got a good show; our form is good so we rate our chances," Webber said.

"Hopefully we can get a mental edge and some positivity going forward."
