BITS sporting clubs get new lease on life with renewals

THE BITS Saints AFC and BITS Cricket Club will receive new five-year leases for their facilities.

The previous leases expired on December 31, 2012.

Gladstone Regional Council approved the new leases at its general meeting on Tuesday.

Both organisations had written to the Council seeking to enter into new joint lease arrangements.

AFL and cricket have shared the BITS Club oval and associated facilities for a number of years.

However the clubs had been restricted from developing and further investing in their facilities until the future of BITS Country Club was resolved.
