GECC gets first of many big-name acts with Birds of Tokyo

BIRDS Of Tokyo - highly impressed by the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre - brought sweet beats to audience's ears last night.

After a smooth sound check on Thursday, bass player Ian Berney said the band and crew were in agreement - the sound space and setup was of high quality.

"It's amazing. I'm not bs*** you, we're all committed to how good the room looked," he said.

Berney said they loved performing regionally and their next adventure was back home in the West.

GECC marketing manager Garry Hansen said Birds was one of the first big acts they hope to bring for 2014.

"We know what's involved now to bring big acts to Gladstone."
