Bird denies pub fight allegation

GOLD Coast officials are confident security video and eyewitness accounts will clear Titans star Greg Bird of any wrongdoing in an incident at the Brunswick Heads Hotel last Saturday night.

The NRL's Integrity Unit is investigating reports Bird was involved in a fight with hotel security after he and his group, which had gathered for a buck's party for Titans winger Anthony Don, were denied entry.

An upset Bird yesterday attempted to publicly clear his name via social media, saying he and others had left the hotel when they were turned away. However, he did add that they had run back to separate a fight between members of his group and hotel security, but did not throw any punches.

He said the hotel's CCTV footage and reports from onlookers would support his claims that he was not involved in the altercation with hotel security staff.
