Biloela's Muller family mourns loss of son after car crash

A ROCKHAMPTON man killed in a car crash on Friday night at Biloela has been named as 21-year-old Ryan Muller.

It's believed Mr Muller was driving near his father's house when his Holden Commodore ute lost control and crashed into a tree.

Muller died at the scene while his 20-year-old mate suffered serious non-life threatening facial injuries.

It is believed Muller had gone to his home town when the crash occurred on the corner of Valentine Plains Rd and Baileys Lane about 9pm.

An ambulance officer who attended the scene reported both men were trapped in the car and smoke was coming from the engine.

The 20-year-old man, from Stanwell, was taken to Biloela Hospital before being airlifted to Brisbane.

A police spokesman said investigators were looking at speed as a factor in the cause of the crash, along with the road surface and the condition of the vehicle.

"Part of the road is an unsealed gravel surface," he said.

It is believed Mr Muller's father, Denis, owns a cattle property on Valentine Plains Rd.

A friend of Muller's remembered him as caring and loving cars.

"Ryan has been one of those guys that has been really supportive," he said.

"He was always giving me pointers about life and cars.

Mr Muller, who grew up in Biloela, was heavily involved with the Callide Soccer Club and worked at the Biloela Woolworths before moving to Rockhampton a few months ago.
