Couple walking around Australia stops in Mt Larcom
CHRIS and Ian Robins have thousands of kilometres to go on their journey, but they're tackling it one step at a time.
The couple is on a walking trip around Australia with six friends to raise money for breast and prostate cancer.
On Sunday they stopped for the night at Mount Larcom, where they stayed at the showgrounds.
"They (show society members) donated the food for dinner which was lovely," Mrs Robins said.
The group's aim is to raise $500,000.
Members are motivated by the wish of a cure for the deadly disease.
Mr Robins is working through his own battle with prostate cancer.
"I felt there wasn't enough done to raise money for prostate cancer," Mrs Robins said.
She said the group's mission was quite a feat, but they were up for the challenge.
"I'm 63, and I'm getting stronger as I'm going. We're just enjoying the whole lot of it.
"People are waving to us, and the traffic is tooting their horns," she said.
