Big day out for everyday goddess
GLADSTONE goddesses’ rejoice – tomorrow is your day to shine and celebrate all things women.
In conjunction with International Women’s Day, which is on Monday, the festival aims to celebrate the strength, beauty and diversity of the Gladstone region’s women.
The theme for the festival is Everyday Goddess.
Brenda Beauchamp, from The Gladstone Women’s Health Centre, said there was a goddess in every woman and Sunday was a chance to let her out.
Ms Beauchamp said the festival was an important day for all women in the Gladstone region.
“It’s important for all women for different reasons. Whether it is a chance to catch up with friends, get out of the house or show off their creative side,” she said.
“It’s an excellent showcase of what the women in the community are capable of.”
Ms Beauchamp said more than 1000 women would participate in the festival.
Guest speaker Tracey Mclean, of Compass Coaching, will speak to women about the importance of loving and respecting themselves, and treating themselves like an everyday goddess.
Festival-goers can expect a diverse range of performers, activities and inspirational speakers.
There will also be opportunities to pamper your everyday goddess and engage in some retail therapy.
The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day will be Women Leading The Way.
Ms Beauchamp said the theme related to all women, not just well-known leaders.
“Women can be leaders in their own household or in their own lives,” she said.
The Women’s Festival will be held tomorrow, at the Gladstone PCYC. The day will run from 10am to 3pm.
