Big brekkie brings in bucks

A BREAKFAST of bacon and eggs has never been so valuable.

And it will be bringing in the dollars on Saturday when the Cancer Council Gladstone Branch hosts their fourth annual Pink Ribbon Breakfast.

A hot buffet breakfast with all the trimmings will be the order of the day as a sell-out crowd enjoy a leisurely Saturday morning at the Gladstone Golf Club, feasting and fundraising for research into breast cancer.

Cancer Council Gladstone Branch treasurer Lesley King said this was the second time the breakfast had been a sell-out, with the final tickets purchased last week.

Ms King said she was pleased with the response to this year’s breakfast, and proud the Gladstone community really got behind this worthy cause.

She said generally a large number of people attending the Pink Ribbon Breakfast had been affected by breast cancer in some way.

“The breakfast is one of our bigger annual fundraisers,” Ms King said.

“It’s a good social event and we have our regulars who come all the time.”

Bryan Jordan will compere the breakfast which includes guest speaker Fei Matheson, live entertainment by duo Lucy Boyd and Tracy Smith, plus raffles and giveaways.
