Battlers in need of volunteers

THEY are battling on, but Friends of Bindaree are in urgent need of some helping hands.

The group, which actively fundraises for the betterment of residents at Bindaree Lodge Aged Care Facility, has issued a desperate appeal for new volunteers to come on board.

Each Wednesday morning, Friends of Bindaree opens its clothing, book and manchester shed to the public plus hosts a successful Saturday monthly garage sale.

However, if volunteer numbers dwindle further the garage sales could possibly close next year.

“Some extra reliable hands would be good,” group

secretary Betty Bannerman said, “because some of these hands here are getting a bit tired.

“If we lose one or two more of our regular volunteers then that would be very serious.”

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Help sort through and clean donations each Tuesday or Wednesday from 8am to 11.30am.

Assist with deliveries and donation pick-ups each Tuesday and Wednesday from 8am to 11.30am (males preferably).

Help set up for garage sale on a Friday once a month.

If you can volunteer phone Andrew or Betty Bannerman on 4973 8156.
