BATMAN: Arkham Knight has shed a brilliant bright light on the dark night.

The long-awaited release, Arkham Knight is the third and final instalment in Rocksteady Studio's take on the classic comic-book world of Batman, Gotham and the various criminal networks that run wild through the city.

This is the fitting conclusion to the epic trilogy with promises of "this is how it happened - this is how Batman died".

As was Evident in 2009's Arkham Asylum, Rocksteady Studios has developed a reputation for interesting and engaging story-telling, and this reputation is upheld in this new release.

The best part about this game is the Batmobile has been introduced for the first time. It's got two modes - pursuit and engage, which, at the flick of a button, transforms the Batmobile into a tank of sorts.

The horror of failure tests Batman at major points throughout the gripping storyline.

With breath-taking open world scenery, Arkham Knight makes us feel as though we have stepped directly into this superhero's polished rubber boots.

Batman: Arkham Knight is available now for the PlayStation4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC.
