VIDEO: Bag of bones found in Bargara dam
A PRESS conference at the Bundaberg Regional Council chambers on Bourbong St announced the next step in the process of investigation the bag of dog bones found in a Bargara dam.
Health and Regulatory services spokesman Wayne Honor said the council was now handing the registration details over to the RSPCA.
"Who is the authority who will investigate that issue," he said.
Cr Honor applauded the pet owner for having their dog registered which he said would help the investigation progress.
He said the council had never been faced with a matter like this before.
Bargara divisional representative Greg Barnes said he had spoken with the person who found the bones earlier today.
A BAG has been found in a Bargara dam containing some rocks, dog bones, a chain and a registration tag.
The discovery was made by a Bargara community member who shared the find on Facebook group, Bargara Facebookers.
The woman reported the find to the Bundaberg Regional Council who started investigating the find on Sunday night.
Bargara divisional representative Greg Barnes said he was impressed with how quickly the council had responded to the incident.
The council will hold a press conference at 12.30pm today to update the progression of the investigation.
