Weather forecast sparks orchestra venue change

PREDICTED bad weather has meant that Friday night's Queensland Symphony Orchestra Music Under the Stars concert will now be held indoors.

The new venue will be the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre, where doors will open at 5.30pm. 

GECC marketing and media officer Julie White said entry to the free concert would be on a first in-first served basis, with the performance starting at 7pm.

The weather forecast is predicting a 95% chance of heavy rain, which would be a threat not only to concert goers but also to the orchestra instruments and the technical equipment.
