Axe wielding robber targets two Toowoomba servos

TOOWOOMBA police are investigating the robbery and attempted robbery of two services stations early this morning.

The first incident occurred around 2am at a Ruthven St business with a man armed with an axe demanding money from the attendant.

The man left the store with cash.

The second incident occurred a few minutes later at a Cohoe St business with a man brandishing an unknown object at the attendant.

The attendant retreated away from the counter and the man attempted without success to open the cash drawer.

The man then fled the store, damaging the entry doors in the process.

The offender in both incidents is believed to be between 165-180cm tall and of average build.

It is believed both incidents are linked.

Investigations are continuing.
