Award the right prescription for Best in Business winners

YOU always need a little time before a big achievement sinks in.

Two weeks after the team at Auscare Pharmacy Gladstone won the highest honour at The Observer/Westpac Best in Business Awards, they are feeling rightly proud.

When The Observer visited the business on Thursday, it was easy to see how they rated highly in a customer service award - all smiles and commitment to the task.

Manager Phoebie Peh said it had been overwhelming to take out the top award.

"I think, first of all, we have a very friendly and knowledgeable team at Auscare Pharmacy," she said.

"Our staff go the extra mile to understand our customers and their family members. Therefore we can tailor advice to their personal needs."

The story of their victory is particularly special, because two years ago Auscare Pharmacy Gladstone was burnt down in a fire that affected several shops.

Ms Peh said getting through that period had been tough, but she believed they had worked hard throughout to serve customers, and the Best in Business award was recognition of that.
