Author inspires region’s budding writers

AUTHOR Ryll Paul inspired a room full of women who attended her workshop on July 14.

The passionate writer shared her knowledge on writing, editing and publishing books.

Attendee Nicole Bourgeois was motivated to write her own novel.

"I've never been to a workshop like this before, she's really inspired me."

The Canadian-born woman was keen to share her travelling stories.

"Having things like this today, it's really fun," she said.

Ms Paul said the response from the workshop was humbling.

"I absolutely love it, because if I inspire just one person out of every workshop, it's the greatest feeling," she said.

Ms Paul released a memoir of significant parts of her life, after being encouraged by friends and family.

"I like to explain the simplistic way of writing. Some people think it's (writing a novel is) way beyond their capability, but I like to show what I have accomplished."
