Aspiring paramedic in her final year at QUT

MEET THE LOCALS: Bethany Rolton is a 22-year-old university student, and coming to the end of her first work placement.

She is in the final year of her course at the Queensland University of Technology, but before she graduates she has to do three, six-week work experience courses.

She's two weeks into her placement, and Bethany says she has been quite fortunate to experience things on the job.

"So far it has been really interesting, not one job is ever the same," she said.

"The first job I went to in Gladstone was a car accident and to be able to put my training into practice was really good."

Bethany says although the paramedic course was long and hard, she thinks it will be a job she'll always enjoy.
