Young gun sinks putt to snatch golf playoff

YOUNG gun Josh Bevan sank a putt to seal the BITS 4BBB Open A grade nett title on the first playoff hole on Sunday. Bevan teamed up with Stephan Horsey to edge out Calliope pair Aaron Dahtler and Grant Oliver after both teams had shot 76 off the stick.

It was a great win for BITS duo Bevan and Horsey who both play off handicaps of nine.

BITS pairing Allan Inslay and Leo Lucht won the A grade nett by two shots from Pat Laws and Ian Coulson.

In B grade, BITS members Lenny Williams and Don Black were in sensational form, shooting 79 off the stick to win the gross title.

Lyle Campbell and Ian Sporton were also in good form, but had to settle for a runner-up spot after their 81.

Matt Harrison and Alan Mayall claimed the B grade nett in a tight three-way countback.

Meanwhile, Gladstone's Garry Darr and David Williams enjoyed a impressive six-stroke C grade gross title win.

Brendan Crowe and John Moore rounded out the winners, taking out the nett crown.
