Yaralla has last chance for finals

YARALLA has one last roll of the dice to secure a Gladstone Soccer Federation first division finals spot when the Redbacks clash with United at United Park today.

Yaralla sit in fifth place going into this weekend's final premiership round, three points adrift of Clinton Grubs who take on Valleys at Biloela tomorrow.

A win to Yaralla today over third-placed United and a Grubs victory could catapult the Redbacks into the finals on goals difference.

Yaralla are minus-two on goals difference and Grubs plus-two, setting up the possibility of a tight finish for finals spots.

United, who are locked on 22 points with Grubs, appear safe with a plus-15 goals difference record.

In the ladies division, the top three spots (BITS, Clinton and United) are already decided with either Valleys or Central, locked together on four points, to progress on goals difference unless Valleys pull off a major upset against BITS or receive a forfeit.

Meanwhile, Clinton's second division side will be Gladstone's lone Capricornia Soccer League representative in tonight's opening finals matches, clashing with Frenchville at Ryan Park.

Today at United Park: 1.30pm ladies United v Clinton; 3pm 1st div United v Yaralla.

Today at Sun Valley Park: 5.30pm 1st div Central Black v Clinton; 7.30pm 1st div Central White v Wolves. Tomorrow at Biloela: 1pm ladies Valleys v BITS; 2.30pm 1st div Valleys v Clinton Grubs. Bye: Central ladies.
