Woman injured in rollover
A WOMAN who turned 18 yesterday, was seriously injured in a car accident near Calliope.
About 9.55am the woman lost control on a dirt road off the Bruce Highway about 5km north of the Calliope Crossroads.
Gladstone police said the woman appeared to have lost control about half a kilometre down Ferguson Road, rolled the car and hit a tree.
The woman was trapped inside the car, which was lying on its side when emergency services arrived.
Gladstone Fire and Rescue cut the woman out of the car and ambulance officers treated her for serious head injuries.
She was taken to Gladstone Hospital for further treatment. Her condition was still serious last night.
