Ulysses Toy Run helps Salvo's Christmas appeal

THE roar of 120 bikes sounded out the call to people to come forward and help during this special time of year.

With bikes wrapped in tinsel and Christmas carols playing in the background, the Ulysses Club Toy Run moved into action.

These benevolent bikers rode on machines of all different shapes and sizes ? Harleys, Roadstars, BMWs, Suzukis, Hondas and Yamahas.

Even motortrikes pitched in to help out. Their passengers were toys for the Salvation Army to help out with the annual Christmas appeal.

Ulysses Motorcycle Club president Peter Smith said all the toys and money raised stayed in Gladstone.

There were riders from various clubs, The Hog Club, Southern Cross, Christian Motorcycles and just those who wanted to help out. Some came from Emerald and Rockhampton.

Leaving from the car park of Big W, this cavalcade of generosity snaked its way around Gladstone, finishing at Yaralla Sports Club.

A barbecue followed, to raise more money.
