Tennis gets back into full swing with sign-on



GLADSTONE players can dust off their racquets as tennis is back in full swing at the Glenlyon Street complex next week.

All players should be jumping out of the lounge chairs after the past month of fantastic tennis around the nation, particularly at the 2006 Australian Open. Good luck to Queenslander Sam Stosur in her women's and mixed doubles events.

There will be no Gladstone ju- nior tennis today but it will get un- der way next Friday with a sign-on and fun day at 3.30pm. Any juniors wishing to sign on for coaching at Gladstone or Tannum Sands can phone Ken or Rob on 4972 2772.

Monday ladies are holding a so- cial morning on Monday at 9am to organise teams. All ladies interest- ed in being involved should come along or phone coordinator Veron- ica Stapleton on 4972 2772.

Tuesday night mixed fixtures caters for players of all standards and has been the most popular fix- ture competition in the associa- tion for a number of years. It will start with a social and grading night next week starting at 6.30pm. For more details phone Rob McBean on 0412 723 608.

Wednesday ladies resume their 2006 season with a social morning next week at 9am.

Wednesday night fixtures is in- viting Gladstone's best players back to make the A division very strong again. Wednesday night competition also caters for any other players wishing to enjoy a game of singles and doubles.

Competition will also get under way next week with a sign-on and social evening starting at 6.30pm. For more information phone Ken or Rob 4972 2772.

Next Saturday afternoon will be a family fun day at Glenlyon Street Tennis Complex starting at 1pm.

This will be a chance for all players to come along and sign up for any of the association competi- tions or to find out about coaching and other tennis programs.
