Taxiride joins Harbour Festival fun

THE entertainment at this year's Gladstone Harbour Festival includes local favourites Taxiride.

Set to take the stage in the new Festhouse on Good Friday, the award-winning Aussie rockers will combine with local band Zekes Wheel.

Gladstone Festival and Events general manager Judy Whicker said the confirmation of Taxiride would be a plus for the festival.

'We are very excited with procuring this award-winning band and with their new album due for release in March feel sure that they will prove most popular with the Gladstone community,' she said.

Taxiride rounds off the list of entertainers for the 2005 festival with a new stage area providing paid entertainment.

Other Festhouse entertainment includes Australian favourites Diesel and Jon Stevens, as well as Country Music's big names Adam Brand and Melinda Schneider.

Ms Whicker said the new stage area would take the Harbour Festival to the next level.

'We are looking to cater for all demographics with our new stage area and the best entertainment the festival has ever boasted,' she said.

However Ms Whicker also added that the Festival would include the usual high quality of free live entertainment on the Marina stage.

This year's Harbour Festival celebrations will begin on March 18 with the new Twilight Street Parade.
