Stars win 15 netball games straight

VALLEY Stars made it 15 wins on the trot going into the Gladstone Netball Association mid-season break with a impressive 50-37 win against Yaralla Eagles on Tuesday night.

Both sides played with only six players, but that didn't stop an open, entertaining game of netball. Centre court Mel Whitmore and wing attack Tara Zielke led the Stars' charge.

To their credit the Eagles never stopped trying with a committed team performance.

In the other match of the round, Yaralla Falcons scored a good win over the Yaralla Owls.

Unfortunately, the score details were unavailable at time of going to print.

Falcons' best were Melanie Frost and Carrie Hazeldine who filled in defence along with goalshooter Lauren Rhodes.

The Owls never stopped trying, with Keisha Street and Zoe Auty playing well.

The A grade competition takes a two-week break.
