Severe weather could be coming

GLADSTONE residents were yesterday warned to monitor weather reports, with a tropical low intensifying off the coast of Bowen.

A severe weather warning has been issued, with no real indication if cyclone activity will occur.

Meanwhile, between 90mm and 100mm of rain fell on Gladstone between 9am on Sunday and 6pm yesterday, according to the Rockhampton Weather Office.

Boyne Tannum didn't miss out either. An unofficial reported boasted 71mm in the same time frame.

Mount Larcom was also bucketed, with one unofficial report of 140mm. Builyan picked up 33mmm in the 24 hours to 9am yesterday.

Agnes Water registered 17mm last weekend but had nothing yesterday. A spokesperson for the Rockhampton Weather Office said he expected the low would be 450km east of Mackay late this afternoon.
