Sarah ends swim campaign strongly
WESTERN Suburbs swimmer SarahLowe came within 0.67 second of finishing her Queensland Open and Age Championships with a medal at Brisbane's Chandler complex last Friday night.
Lowe, who on the previous night had finished fourth in the final of the girls 15 years 100m butterfly, this time took fifth place in the 100m freestyle event, touching the wall in 59.63sec.
Reaching the final of the freestyle event capped a strong week for Lowe who also won gold and silver medals with CQ under-16 and open women's relay teams and was a regular finalist in individual competition.
Also in action on the final night was Lowe's former Western Suburbs club-mate Adam Eiseman, now swimming with the CQU Rocky City club despite still residing in Gladstone.
Eiseman finished 10th in his men's open 100m backstroke final while fellow CQU Rocky City competitor Jason Green was the toast of his club-mates after taking gold in the men's open 200m individual medley for multi-disability swimmers.
Biloela Bluefins competitor Shea Korte had a busy finish to the championships, contesting 16 years boys 200m backstroke and 400m freestyle finals on Friday night, finishing fifth and eighth respectively.
