Saints charged to beat Yeppoon

BITS are hoping to return to the winners list when they meet a struggling Yeppoon Swans in Trend Interiors/Carpet Court AFL Capricornia A grade action at BITS Oval today. The Saints suffered a 16-point loss to top-side Glenmore last week, but are massive favourites to defeat a Yeppoon side who have lost their last four games.
With just one game separating BITS from third-placed Brothers, coach Rod Spice is sure to have his boys charged for this game.
Key defenders Luke Beale and Paul Currant were magnificent last week against the Bulls and provide the Saints with crucial backbone inside their defensive 50.
Yeppoon's confidence at the moment would be at a season low and expect the genuine class of BITS onballers Darren Boase, Damon Stebbings and Adam Dickenson to be a telling factor in the result.
Today could also be the day for Nathan Shipard to kick a big bag of goals in what should be a good Saints win. At Clinton Park it is top versus bottom when the Gladstone Mudcrabs host Glenmore.
The season can't finish quick enough for the battling Mudcrabs and it doesn't get any easier for them today. Glenmore are travelling beautifully and if they win today, it will be enough to secure them their first minor premiership in over a decade.
One thing that can be counted upon is the fact the Mudcrabs are certain to at least have a crack at the Bulls. Lookout for coach Jason Chirgwin, skipper Andrew Travers, Mark Gordon and Ben Redway to feature for the Mudcrabs.
Both games start at 2.30pm.
