Rotary eyes $50,000 auction target

IT'S ON again! The fourth annual Rotary Auction will be held at the Gladstone Turf Club on Saturday, October 15.

Auction spokesperson Colin Chapman said they were trying for something different this year.

'We are expanding the range of goods for sale to include items such as office furniture.

'As well, we have raised the goal posts for the amount of money we want to raise,'he said.

Auction committee chairman Wade Hughes said the aim of the auction was to raise $50,000 for local community groups.

This year the beneficiaries will be the Gladstone branch of the Leukaemia Foundation, Blue Care and Bindaree Lodge's aged care facility Edenvale under construction at Glen Eden, and the Gladstone Men's Shelter Committee.

Mr Hughes said the donations had started rolling in with NRG donating office furniture and a local person donating a new television.

Any business or individual wanting to donate goods or services to be auctioned on the day can phone Wade Hughes on 4972 3611.
