Residents yearn to do things in the nude

THE CROQUET ladies didn't mind gossiping about nudity but all agreed they "look a lot better in clothes'.

Rossalinda Heidenreich wasn't afraid to admit she occasionally wandered around the house in the nude 'as long as you don't have any visitors'.

And she said the only way to sleep was nude.

'You don't get strangled in any clothes,' she said. 'They twist and turn around you.'

But Marlene Clinton agreed people's comfort was often a reflection of society and the era.

'Everyone to their own thing,' she said.

'A lot of it is about body image. Society promotes a perfect body.

'It all reflects the era. It wasn't the done thing then. People became a bit rebellious'.

WHETHER you're rushing from the shower or you just reached out of bed for the phone, we all have our moments of nudity.

About one third of people talk on the phone in the nude, according to a new survey.

Men are the worst offenders. 40 per cent of men admit to talking on the phone in the nude.

Women however are more likely to throw a towel at least around themselves first, with only 27 per cent chatting away naked.

It seems the younger the person the more likely they are to get their kit off.

People under 25-years-of-age are the most likely to go skinny dipping or visit a nude beach.

However going for a skinny dip in the middle of the night after a couple of drinks, doesn't necessarily classify people as nudists or naturists.

People under 54-years-of-age are most likely to be nudists.

But in the privacy of our own homes there's no telling what people get up to in the nude: 39 per cent of households walk around their house in the nude, according to a recent survey. Less surprising is the figure that shows many people sleep in the nude: 59 per cent of households sleep in the nude.

The study also showed more singles than married couples sleep in the nude. When it comes to those which take on nudity as a lifestyle ? nudists, a nude registry has some interesting data.

Women have always known, a couple of drinks in any guy and suddenly they're over keen to take their clothes off: 85 per cent of nudists are men and most are aged between 40 to 50-years-of-age.

Nudists tend to have above average incomes.
