Reece wins spot in Queensland?s soccer squad

FORMER BITS soccer player Reece Veenhoven is smiling after making the Queensland schoolboys team for the National Titles in Cairns in August.

Sixteen-year-old Veenhoven, who moved to Brisbane earlier this year, impressed state selectors playing for Metropolitan North at the recent state titles.

Veenhoven has been in great form for his new club Souths and mum Renate said he has settled into living in Brisbane very well.

'Reece loves it down there and is enjoying his soccer and said he has improved overall as a player,' Veenhoven said.

'His versatility in midfield or up forward has probably helped him get into the team.'

Renate said that it was the first time Veenhoven had made the Queensland schoolboys team since year 7 and said she was looking forward to heading up to Cairns.
