Radloff takes strong rugby league point lead
BARRING injury or a call up to Central Comets duty, Gladstone Brothers fullback James Radloff has forged a near unassailable lead in the CQ Extended League A grade pointscoring stakes.
After eight premiership rounds Radloff has raised a personal tally of 138 points, scoring more tries (11) and kicking more goals (47) than any other player in the competition.
With his nearest rival in the overall pointscoring stakes, CQU Norths' Jamie Waterton, a massive 52 points further adrift, Radloff appears headed toward the honour of being the competition's most prolific scorer.
A regular trainer with the Comets' Queensland Cup side, it would not surprise if Radloff was offered a run with the struggling outfit as his cross-town rival Ron Craig has in recent weeks.
Craig is third on the pointscoring list with 80 points and may have already passed the 100mark if not for his absence while on Comets duty.
Several big victories by unbeaten CQU Norths and Rockhampton Brothers in recent rounds have resulted in Rockhampton players pegging back their Gladstone counterparts in the tryscoring stakes.
