THE colour, passion and culture of the Pacific is- lands mesmerised Gladstone residents last week- end in a special family outing.
The Island Breeze City Wide Celebration at- tracted between 300 and 400 spectators in an enter- taining event.
Event co-ordinator Pastor Ken Riddell said the colour and life of the Pacific islanders amazed ev- eryone on the day.
"It was outstanding, an absolutely awesome day,'' Pastor Riddell said.
"They brought their expressions from the Pacif- ic of how they honour God.''
Pastor Riddell said the day provided an oppor-tunity to share in the different ways Christians expressed their beliefs.
"The aim was to better understand how people from different cultures fit together and express their love for God,'' Pastor Riddell said.
Pastor Riddell said the main attraction of the day was the traditional dancing which lit up the Gladstone Marina stage.
"People were just blown away with the colour and dancing, it was fantastic,'' Pastor Riddell said.
The event also provided the chance for people to pick up some great prizes with a number of give- aways, including a bike.
There were also a number of vouchers and Christmas hampers given out leading up to the festive season.
Pastor Riddell said with the prizes being donat- ed by Gladstone businesses and the turnout on the day, Gladstone residents had shown tremendous support for the event.
The event was organised by Global Care and the combined efforts of Gladstone churches.
