Man injured at power station

A MAN received chest injuries and possible broken ribs from a worksite incident yesterday afternoon at NRG Gladstone Power Station.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) officers were called to the incident about 4.50pm after the man was allegedly struck by a piece of pipe while working at a height.

A QAS spokesperson said a rescue team from NRG had recovered the injured man from the incident site by the time the ambulance crew had arrived.

The man was later taken by ambulance to Gladstone Hospital for chest X-rays.

Scenes of Crime officers and Work-place, Health and Safety officials were informed of the incident yesterday.

Gladstone Hospital was unable to provide information on the man's condition last night.
