Keen to market Library Square

ALL the colour and vitality of the marketplace could become a major drawcard for Gladstone's city heart with plans to introduce regular markets to Library Square.

Gladstone Entertainment Centre is seeking expressions of interest from individuals or businesses interested in holding a stall if regular markets were established.

Gladstone Regional Council Manager of Performing Arts Troy Everett said council had been considering markets in Library Square for some time.

"Library Square is a very versatile space which is currently not being used to its full potential,'' Mr Everett said.

"The live music every Friday and Saturday night is excellent and has been well supported.

"The next step may be regular markets, but this will only be an option if the demand is there.''

Mr Everett said the type and frequency of the market would depend on the response from interested stallholders.

Anyone interested should phone Gladstone Entertainment Centre on 4972 2822 or email leanneb@gcc.qld.gov.au.
